INTRODUCTION
Penguins don't fly like other birds but they can swim and walk. There are 17 types of penguins.
Paghgraph 1: Appearance and Classification
Penguins are a bird species. Some penguins are yellow and white while some are black and white. Penguins are covered in feathers and on the inside is blubber. Penguins have adapted flippers to help them swim in the water. The little blue penguins which are the smallest penguins are around 33 cm in height, while the tallest, the Emperor penguin reaches 120 cm in height.
Paragraph 2: Habitat
Penguins are found in the Southern Hemisphere where it is VERY COLD!! In this place they build their nests out of small rocks. Some penguins move to warmer places such as New Zealand, Australia and South America. In these places they build nests in
thick bushes or in holes under the ground.
Paragraph 3: Enemies and how do they protect themselves
Penguins face many dangers like large Gulls eat their eggs and small babies. At sea penguins are chased by sharks, seals and killer whales.
Paragraph 4: Favourite Food
Penguins catch their food from the sea. They like to eat krill, fish and Squid. This makes them carnivores because they don't eat plants.

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your report on penguins so thanks for sharing it on your blog. Imagine bumping into an Emperor Penguin.........I think I would get a fright seeing a penguin as tall as that in real life!
