The Albtross

          The Albatross

The Albatross is the biggest sea bird and largest flying bird in the world. Albatross`s like living in the cold. They spend most of their lives above the water, they only come to land to breed. They have long, slender wings and can glide for a long time. They have very sharp hooks like beaks which helps them scoop food up like fish, squid and other seafood. The parent Albatross takes turns looking after their baby egg till it hatches. They continue to look after their baby when it hatches. The Albatross dies from pollution in the ocean like they eat plastic bags and other stuff and when they wait near boats and grab the bait on a fishing rod they drown and die.

  1. Hi Nikita,
Thanks for sharing your report about the Albatross. You have done some great research on this amazing sea bird. It's hard to imagine them spending so much time flying over the sea without coming back to land. It's also sad to think that simple things like plastic bags and the like can be such a danger to the albatross and other sea birds alike. I am pleased that in NZ we don't use plastic quite so much, so that we can make a difference to the well being of the whole world.
